Acidophilic plants

This substrate is perfect for the professional cultivation of acidophilic and calcifugal plants, especially azaleas, rhododendrons, gardenias, blue-flowered hydrangeas, heathers and camellias.

Its soft, light structure and the presence of pumice grains help to ensure that the roots work with the right balance between water and air.

This substrate has all the required nutrients, nevertheless, although acidophilic plants require little fertilisation, they do need periodic supplies of iron to counteract the effects of calcareous water irrigation.
